AOB 2009
There were quite a few items of Any Other Business.
- Presentation evening. Once again Bob Palmer commented on dress code. His comments were mostly ignored by those who had not conformed to Southsea GC's dress code.
- Some people have indicated a preference for a formal meal at the presentation evening.
- Mel Blake proposed a vote of thanks to the committee for their work in 2009. Seconded by Bob Palmer.
- Regarding BU's proposal to put one committee member per tee times.
If there are not enough committee members to fill the tee time slots then we will nominate a slot filler; usually the lowest handicap player in the group. - Mark Griffin proposed that Trevor Geddes be an honorary slot filler.
- Entry into the birdies competition is still optional at ONE pound. Not part of membership fee.
- Some of the annual trophies are now battered and bruised. New sponsors required. Cost approx £ 50 to 65.
- Knockout winner should have a chance to defend the trophy. He will be seeded into the top 16. So the top 16 will now be top 15, if Mike G. is not already in it.
- As we get to the end of the year (last 3 months), the overall standings will only be known to the Handicap Secretary and Secretary.
- Winner of previous month should be first out in the next competition.
- The Knockout tournament will continue to be played using full handicap difference.
- The Winners of the pairs competition can defend the trophy, assuming both attend the weekend away
There being no other business the meeting closed at 21:20.
